Cocktails + French Fries | Burger Schmurger, ep.2

Burger Schmurger | Dallas

Cocktails + French Fries

Some nights you want a martini.
Some nights you want a cold beer and a basket of fries.

Burger Schmurger is the second kind of night.

It’s casual, it’s busy, and it’s exactly where you go when you want something satisfying without overthinking it. Settle into a table or grab a seat at the bar and let the night unfold from there.

What to Drink

Start with an ice-cold beer in a frosty mug. My go-to is Dos XX — crisp, simple, and exactly what this place calls for.

If you’re leaning more “spring/summer refresh,” the frozen Paloma is a strong contender. Bright, citrusy, and easy to keep sipping.

And if you need a little caffeine with your cocktail, their espresso martini uses espresso from East Dallas Middle Ground right across the lot — a nice little neighborhood tie-in.

The “Fries”

The fries are good — especially with the burger sauce.

But the real move? The fried mozzarella.

Thick, hand-cut wedges, breaded in-house and fried until golden. The kind of cheese pull that turns heads at the table. Order it.

The Burger (Because It’s a Must)

You may think you’re just here for drinks and fries… but the burger usually wins.

The OG and the Maverick are always solid. And right now, the Sweet Heat burger (featuring our pimento) is making a limited appearance — worth catching before it’s gone (April 2026 Burger of the Month).

Also, don’t overlook the house-made pickles. Easy to miss, but one of the most unexpectedly delicious components on the plate.

Insider Move

Weekends are packed. If you actually want to sit and stay awhile, go for a weeknight or a weekday lunch.

Anything I’d Change

I’d love to see a non-fried appetizer option to balance things out a bit.

Can you stay awhile and talk about real life? Yes — just a little louder.
Works for date night? Casual, yes.
Bring the family? Absolutely.
Big group dinner? Yes.

Burger Schmurger isn’t trying to be fancy. It’s trying to be good. And it is.
